Frequently asked questions.

📸 General Questions

1. What areas do you service?

Located in Portage, Indiana, we proudly serve Northwest Indiana and surrounding areas.
For a detailed service area map and information on travel fees, please see the bottom of our Pricing page. If you’re outside these areas, reach out and we’ll let you know if we’re available to service your location and whether travel fees will apply.

2. How do I book a shoot?

You can easily book online at www.nestvisionmedia.com/order. Online booking shows all available appointment times and helps get you scheduled quickly. We highly recommend using online booking, as appointments made through the website take priority over requests sent via text or email. If you prefer, you can still contact us directly with your preferred date, time, and property details, but online booking is the fastest and easiest way to secure your spot.

3. How far in advance should I schedule?

We recommend booking at least 2–3 days in advance to secure your preferred time, though we sometimes have next-day availability for last-minute appointments. Booking availability is shown on the booking site.

4. Do I or the homeowner need to be present during the shoot?

No, attendance isn’t required. As long as we have access (lockbox, code, or key), we’ll take care of everything.

🏠 Before the Shoot

5. How should the home be prepared for photos?

We provide a full Home Prep Guide to make this easy. In short, turn on all lights, declutter surfaces, remove small rugs, and keep pets and children safely out of the way.

6. What happens if the home isn’t ready when you arrive?

If we’re unable to begin shooting because the property isn’t ready or accessible, a reshoot or cancellation fee will apply. A minimum of 4 hours’ notice is required for any cancellations or reschedules. We’ll always do our best to be flexible when possible, but same-day changes without notice will incur a fee.

7. Do you move furniture or personal items?

We don’t move large items or stage properties for liability reasons, so please make sure everything is arranged the way you’d like it photographed before we arrive. We may adjust very small items (soap bottles, paper towels, hand towels, etc.) to improve the shot, but we will not move larger items or furniture. We may also make minor adjustments, such as opening curtains, blinds or doors, to enhance the overall composition.

🖼 During & After the Shoot

8. How long does a typical shoot take?

Most homes take 30–90 minutes, depending on size and services (photos, video, drone, etc.).

9. When will I receive my photos?

Standard turnaround is within 24 hours of your shoot. Virtual staging or advanced edits may take up to 48 hours. Allow up to 72 hours for 3D Products.

10. How do I receive my photos and videos?

You’ll receive a link via email to an online gallery where you can download both MLS-optimized and high-resolution files.

11. Can I request specific angles or features to be photographed?

Absolutely! Just include your notes when booking or let us know at the start of the appointment.

💻 Editing & Deliverables

12. Are all photos professionally edited?

Yes! Every photo is professionally edited for brightness, color balance, and clarity to make your listing look its best.

13. Can you digitally remove items or make changes?

Yes! We offer both virtual staging and object removal services to help present your listing in the best possible way.
Please note that MLS guidelines may require any digitally altered photos to be clearly labeled as such, so we provide two versions of your edited image set — one with the disclosure and one without — allowing you to choose what best fits your MLS requirements.
Because rules can vary by region, we always recommend confirming your local MLS policies before posting.

14. What’s included in my photo package?

Each package includes a set number of high-quality, edited images and an online download gallery. Add-ons like drone photos, twilight edits, or videos are available at checkout.

🧾 Policies & Payments

15. What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations within 24 hours of your scheduled shoot may incur a fee. If weather interferes, we’re happy to reschedule at no charge.

16. What if it’s raining?

Light rain usually doesn’t delay photo shoots, and interior photos can still be completed if conditions aren’t ideal. However, if exterior photos need to be done on a separate day, a travel fee may apply. Drone photography will not be conducted if the weather is unsuitable due to any rain or excessive wind. You also have the option to reschedule the entire shoot with at least 4 hours’ notice to avoid secondary any travel fee.

17. When is payment due?

Payment is due upon media delivery unless prior arrangements have been made.
