Frequently asked questions.
📸 General Questions
What areas do you service?
Based in Portage, Indiana, we proudly serve Northwest Indiana and the surrounding areas. Travel fees may apply for locations outside our standard service area.
How do I book a shoot?
You can easily book online at www.nestvisionmedia.com/order. Online booking shows all available appointment times and helps you secure your spot quickly. We highly recommend using the website, as appointments booked online take priority over requests sent via text or email that haven’t been confirmed. If you prefer, you can still contact us directly with your preferred date, time, and property details, but online booking is the fastest and easiest way to schedule.
How far in advance should I schedule?
We recommend booking at least 2–3 days in advance to secure your preferred time, though we sometimes have next-day availability for last-minute appointments. Booking availability is shown in real time, on the booking site.
Do I or the homeowner need to be present during the shoot?
No, attendance isn’t required. As long as we have access via lockbox, code, or key, we’ll handle everything. You’re welcome to attend if you like, just please keep pets and kids out of the way.
🏠 Before the Shoot
How should the home be prepared for photos?
We provide a full Home Prep Guide to make this easy. In short, turn on all lights, declutter surfaces, remove small rugs, and keep pets and children safely out of the way.
What happens if the home isn’t ready when you arrive?
If we’re unable to begin shooting because the property isn’t ready or accessible, a reshoot or cancellation fee will apply. A minimum of 4 hours’ notice is required for any cancellations or reschedules. We’ll always do our best to be flexible when possible, but same-day changes without notice will incur a fee.
Do you move furniture or personal items?
We don’t move large items or stage properties for liability reasons, so please make sure everything is arranged the way you’d like it photographed before we arrive. We may adjust very small items (soap bottles, paper towels, hand towels, etc.) to improve the shot composition, but we will not move larger items or furniture. We may also make minor adjustments, such as opening curtains, blinds or doors, to enhance the overall look.
🖼 During & After the Shoot
How long does a typical shoot take?
Most homes take 30–90 minutes, depending on size and services (photos, video, drone, etc.).
When will I receive my photos?
Standard turnaround is within 24 hours of your shoot. Virtual staging or advanced edits may take up to 48 hours. Allow up to 72 hours for 3D Products.
How do I receive my photos and videos?
You’ll receive a link via email to an online gallery where you can download both MLS-optimized and high-resolution files.
Can I request specific angles or features to be photographed?
Absolutely! Just include in your notes when booking or let us know at the appointment.
💻 Editing & Deliverables
Are all photos professionally edited?
Yes! Every photo is professionally edited for brightness, color balance, and clarity to make your listing look its best.
Can you digitally remove items or make changes?
Yes! We offer both virtual staging and object removal services to help present your listing in the best possible way. Please note that MLS guidelines may require digitally altered photos to be clearly labeled. If you need a version with the disclosure statement, you must request it when ordering. We can provide two versions of your edited images, one with the disclosure and one without, so you can choose what best fits your MLS requirements. Since rules can vary by MLS, we always recommend confirming your local MLS policies before posting.
What’s included in my photo package?
Each package includes high-quality, edited images and an online download gallery. The number of photos varies based on the size of the home and the services you order. Add-ons such as drone photos, twilight edits, or videos are available at checkout.
🧾 Policies & Payments
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations within 24 hours of your scheduled shoot may incur a fee. If unexpected weather interferes, we are happy to reschedule at no charge.
What if it’s raining?
Light rain usually does not delay photo shoots, and interior photos can still be completed even if conditions are not ideal. If exterior photos need to be done on a separate day due to heavy rain, a travel fee may apply depending on the location. Drone photography will not be conducted if the weather is unsuitable due to rain, fog, or excessive wind. You also have the option to reschedule the entire shoot with at least four hours’ notice to avoid any additional travel fee.
When is payment due?
Payment is due on media delivery unless prior arrangements have been agreed upon.
